Biography
Sarah graduated with a BA in Music from York in 2000 and was awarded the Lady Lyons Millenium Scholarship for an MA in Contemporary Performance in 2001 . In 2005 she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, gaining her Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Studies with Distinction and she continues to study with her professor, Alison Pearce. Whilst at the RAM, she was supported by the Richard Stapley Educational Trust, won the Arthur Bliss competition and runner-up prize in the John Ireland Competition. She was also awarded the Van Smit Prize for her final recital performance.

Sarah is an experienced oratorio soloist. Recent performances include The Creation with Benson Choral Society at Dorchester Abbey, Poulenc's Gloria with the Thames Philharmonic Choir, Handel's Messiah with Derby Choral Union, Mozart Vespers in Merchant Taylor's Hall, Bach' s Christmas Oratorio , B Minor Mass and Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri with the Sweelinck Ensemble, Karl Jenkins' new work The Armed Man and Beethoven's Symphony Fantasia with Leicester Philharmonic Choir and the BBC Concert Orchestra at the De Montford Hall, conducted by Karl Jenkins and Luca Francesconi's Let me Bleed with the New London Chamber Choir in Royaumont Abbey.
She enjoys performing afternoon and lunchtime recitals across London, most recently in St. Peter's Church Vauxhall, the staggeringly grand and ornate Union Chapel in Islington, The Foundling Museum and Grosvenor Chapel Mayfair. She also performed Warlock's cycle Lilligay with pianist Geoffrey Pratley in the RAM Warlockathon which was recorded for the Warlock Society.
Opera roles include Amor, Orfeo et Euridice (Opéra de Baugé), Hélène, Une Èducation du Manquée (RAM), Serpetta, La Finta Giardiniera (RAM), Sister Constance, Les Dialogues des Carmélites (RAM), Peaseblossom, A Midsummer Night's Dream (RAM), Eloise, Louise (RAM), Chorus, Idomeneo (Dartington Festival Opera), Belinda, Dido and Aeneas (York University).
She especially enjoys performing contemporary works, performing Elizabeth Lutyens' work for soprano and string trio, Requiescat with the Shilladay String Trio in the National Gallery, Ligeti's Aventures and Bent Sørensen's This Night of No Moon with Violinist David Worswick in the Duke's Hall at the RAM, premiered a new work by Kyla Greenbaum for a new play by Julia Pascal in the Purcell Rooms, Southbank and most recently, performed Speak (with saxophone) with music by Adam Melvin, visuals by Mark Melvin at The Sassoon Gallery in south-east London.

Cabaret Fou
She recently founded a new politically-minded contemporary cabaret ensemble, Cabaret Fou, with composer Rob Fokkens. They perform songs from the early 20th century alongside those of modern day composers with pianist Belinda Jones, clarinettist Matt Dibble and cellist Rosie Banks. 2007 performances included nights at Lauderdale House, Peterhouse Cambridge and Tête À Tête Opera Festival 2007 at the Riverside Studios.
She is a member of Juice, a female vocal trio specialising in contemporary music who recently made their Purcell Rooms debut as Park Lane Group Young Artists to great critical acclaim. Their programmes draw on world music, jazz, folk and pop, they have commissioned countless new works and featured on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and Resonance FM. They present both purely a cappella music or multi-media nights featuring visuals and electronics.
She regularly performs with many professional vocal ensembles and choirs including the BBC Singers, Philharmonia Voices, the Netherlands Radio Choir, Exaudi and Tenebrae performing in many fantastic venues including The Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, the Royal Festival Hall and Westminster Cathedral. She is also in great demand as a church singer being a resident member of Grosvenor Chapel Choir in Mayfair.
